Neighborhood Energy's Evolution

“Ch – ch – ch – ch – changes…” goes the David Bowie song. You may have noticed our “ch – ch – ch – changed” new logo. We have spent some time in over the past few months creating that new logo, reflecting the changes that have taken place for Neighborhood Energy over the past years.

We started out as White Columns Office Solutions in 2009, an organization dedicated to electric supply and telecommunications. Our customer base was with commercial and industrial consumers. In 2010, the brokering of energy supply became the major hub of activity that now included natural gas and the only focus for White Columns Office Solutions. We then added energy supply solutions for our residential clients, helping them find better rates. Neighborhood Energy was born in 2013 because the model to serve residential clients was different.

In 2016, we merged White Columns Office Solutions and Neighborhood Energy. More and more commercial clients were added to our services and the rebranding our company name to Neighborhood Energy made sense because it was more representative of our services. Our core competency of understanding energy markets joined with our strategic counsel, low rate leadership and monthly reporting resulted in our clients calling us their “virtual energy department” because they had energy expertise without the corresponding headcount.

We have seen many changes in the marketplace over the years. New third-party suppliers have been added and some have fallen by the wayside. When a supplier’s offerings, service levels or requirements do not fit our needs – your needs – we will discontinue that relationship. Our ability to provide you with competitive rates and superior account management is of utmost importance.

Today, we refocused our efforts. That resulted in changing our logo to best show our strength in the commercial sector. Our client base served is wide with commercial and residential space, food, educational, municipal, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and banking. Please note the circular shape and different building sizes in colors that best represent our environment, with the initials of our company in the middle to serve all. Big kudos to my daughter Nessa, who was the graphic designer who evolved our old-to-new logo.

Our future consists of getting better every day and to serve our clients with the best rates, prompt response to inquiries and transparency of third-party rate performance versus the utility default through our custom monthly reports. We are proud that my mother’s philosophy of “making your pennies scream!” has resulted in our clients saving well into eight digits.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little look-back into our NENE history and how we have evolved. We thank you for being the reason for our growth and evolution. We also appreciate your references and word of mouth leads which continue to fuel our growth. As always, if there’s anything we can do to serve you better please let us know. We’re always looking to grow and improve.

 Your friendly Neighborhood Energy.
